Learning that's personally meaningful, not one-size-fits-all.

Students disengage when learning doesn't feel relevant to them. thinkering gives each person their own space to explore and direct their learning — grounded in the shared materials or topics you provide, but taken in directions that matter to them.

What we offer

Teach learners how to learn — not just what to learn.

One of the things educators tell us matters most is helping students develop metacognitive skills — understanding their own learning process. thinkering is built around exactly that.

Personal learning within shared contexts
Ground learners in shared resources, topics, or goals — then let them take it somewhere personally meaningful. Learners who have a sense of ownership and direction are more engaged, more curious, and more likely to keep going.
Learning how to learn
thinkering builds in the plan-do-reflect loop that underlies self-directed learning. Students set goals, work through tasks, and reflect on what's working — developing skills they'll use well beyond your class or program.
Howie for every learner
Each person gets Howie as a personal learning buddy — helping them shape their learning journey, suggesting strategies that fit what they're working on, and nudging them to reflect on their process.
Pilot programmes
We're actively looking to partner with schools, arts organizations, and educational programs who want to explore this approach. We're especially interested in co-designing with educators and researchers.
